Welcome to The Albury Produce Association
We are a produce association serving the local villages of the Tillingbourne Valley, part of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the south-east of England. We hold one of the longest continuously running produce shows in the country on the third Saturday in July each year.
Our activities are all run by volunteers and we try to provide both a high quality show and a great family day out for the local community. The APA also organises other events throughout the year and we distribute our financial surpluses to support local charities and good causes at our AGM in November.
The weekend of 17/18 July 2010 saw the 64th produce show, barn dance and the 2nd music festival, all of which were a huge success. We had 935 entries in the show tent and lots of people enjoying the day. The barn dance was a sell out and the 2nd music festival on the Sunday very popular with great music and sunshine.
QUIZ RESULTS AND ANSWERS
There was something new at the Albury Produce Show and Free Fest this year - a family quiz to purchase and ponder over. We received nearly 60 entries, all well researched, and so the scoring was very high and close. The winner is Rosanna Collingwood from Gomshall (28/29), who wins our Hamper of Everyday Yummy Things, kindly donated by Mad Jak in Shere. Well done Rosanna, and thanks to all those who entered and to Mad Jak for their ongoing support and generosity. Along with other surplus takings from the Albury Weekend, the quiz monies will go to really worthwhile groups in the area.
The answers follow, and there are 2 points of order:
1. Due to a typing error, question 26 has been omitted from the scoring, although some wonderfully inventive answers were provided!
2. Two answers have been accepted for question 30. The original answer was The Grange / a coaching inn. However The Tudor Pigeon House is also a house, and very old!
